As Lonzo Ball's shooting struggles continue to be much talked about among basketball fans, there have been many reasons that emerged as to what the real cause for it is. However, the 20-year-old rookie himself recently shared what he thinks may have added to his woes on the court since the start of season.
His admiration for other players he competes against could've contributed to it, as Ball admitted, via Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports. He added, that if he sees them all the same way, it should help him focus more on the game, and allow him to give his best night in and night out.

Through 20 games, Ball only has a field goal percentage of 31.3, with averages of 8.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.9 minutes. It has resulted in him getting benched in some games, not seeing action completely in fourth quarters. Head coach Luke Walton has opted to use his bench players over him, as they are more effective than Ball on the court.
Now that the former UCLA star has shared that he admires other players too much during games, he may come up with a conscious effort to avoid it, which will only make him better. With more games as a pro under his belt as well, competing at the highest level versus the best players in the world will be something he'll get more familiar with, and should get his mind more focused on performing well against them instead.
