Lonzo Ball has been rather mum since sustaining a knee injury and undergoing surgery during this offseason, but even the setback won't keep him from the hype this new season will bring to La La Land. The Los Angeles Lakers added their biggest cog in LeBron James, an addition Ball feels will kick this team into another gear.

“I ran into him two times, but any time a player like that comes to the team obviously it’s going to spark something for sure,” Ball told Elex Michaelson of Good Day L.A. “Guys have been in there working extra hard for him, and for themselves as well. We think we can do something big this year.”

The hype is real in L.A. and so are the expectations after five seasons being out of the playoffs.

James will certainly bring a winning culture with him, but it'll take younger players and new additions buying into his mentality to make a push in a star-studded Western Conference.

Ball has never been one to give thrilling insight in interviews, but he said just enough to encourage those who were worried about him potentially missing time coming into the 2018-19 season.

“I’m happy I get to play with him,” Ball said of James. “I’m trying to get healthy and get back on the court.”

Only time will tell if this equation works as desired, but for now, LABron is in full force until the Lakers get their much-awaited season-opener on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 18.
