The Los Angeles Lakers have been a frustrating team to watch this season, a trend that continued on Wednesday in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Up 13 points late in the third quarter, it seemed like the Lakers were heading towards a victory over the Grizzlies. Led by guard Ja Morant, Memphis powered its way to a come-from-behind win over Los Angeles.
After the game, Lakers guard Malik Monk spoke about the loss and delivered an NSFW admission about the Lakers and their collapse:
Malik Monk on another loss for the Lakers: "Shit is super frustrating. … We just got to be locked in as a whole together."

Lakers guard Malik Monk is saying what every Los Angeles fan is probably feeling right now. Only, LA fans are probably also wondering why Monk didn't pass to a wide-open Russell Westbrook on the wing late in the game.

Late-game decision aside, Monk is right about the Lakers after their loss to the Grizzlies. They need to be locked in, something they haven't been able to do this season with consistency.
Monk acknowledged that, while he doesn't want to make excuses, the Lakers are still technically new to each other, to some extent. It will take time for them to jell, especially when players are in and out of the lineup due to injuries and COVID protocols.
However, given the level of talent on the Los Angeles roster, it's fair to say that losses like the one to the Grizzlies should never happen to the team.
That's why Malik Monk — and Lakers fans — are so frustrated right now.
