As if Lakers Twitter wasn't already a wild enough place, this past weekend revealed that “Vivian Flores,” the co-host of “The Laker Point Podcast” along with Josh Touissant, was, in reality, a catfish.
While it is still unclear who was behind the account that had been duping people for over a decade, many people have pointed to Touissant as possibly being the culprit, not only because of the suspicious editing done on their podcast–which would suggest the recordings were made at two different times, possibly by the same person, and then spliced together–but because of their reported close relationship. Touissant has denied that he was behind the account and claimed he was a “pawn” in the whole saga as well, though he did have some suspicions early on thanks to porn.
No, really.
In an interview with Cheyenne Roundtree of the Daily Beast, the podcasting host explained that while Flores would refuse to Facetime with him due to “insecurities” that she had from her reported battle with Leukemia, the two had exchanged some NSFW pictures on occasion.
However, thanks to Touissant's ever keen eye, the host realized the pictures Flores had sent were not actually of her–or at least the person who she claimed to be and not the real, real “her” since we still don't know that is (don't worry, we're confused too)–but rather screengrabs of other women in porn.
Article Continues BelowWhile Touissant told the Daily Beast he confronted Flores on the matter, he explained that Vivian once again excused the behavior because of her insecurities around her body.
Ultimately, the Lakers podcaster would continue his relationship with Flores and even reportedly had a date planned with her next week before her “betrayal” came to light this past weekend.
“I’m just in the same boat as you guys, maybe even worse because I thought we were close,” Lakers podcastern Josh Touissant told Roundtree. “I thought we were really cool, and we’ve been for over a year. I thought I was helping her while she was dealing with cancer. She opened up to me about her past.”
“I just feel completely betrayed right now,” he later added. “She’s (Vivian) always struggled to tell the truth or talk about herself.”
“I don’t think that’s going to happen now,” he said flatly in regards to the planned date next week.
We don't typically give dating advice, but honestly, passing on that date might be best for Mr. Touissant. But hey, at least Lakers fans are entertained by it… maybe?
