After missing 14 games due to a broken right hand, Rajon Rondo of the Los Angeles Lakers will suit up against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Rondo has been out since the Lakers' Christmas day game against the Golden State Warriors. It will be just Rondo's 15th game of the season of the Lakers' 49 games.
Rajon Rondo told us on the @SpectrumSN pregame show – which will air coming up soon – that he will return to the line up tonight against Minnesota. He’s been out since Christmas Day at Golden State.

Earlier, Lakers head coach Luke Walton shared that Brandon Ingram will play the point guard spot even if Rondo is available to play. Ingram is no stranger to playing the point guard position. Last season, he was the primary point guard for the purple and gold.
According to Walton, the move was aimed at engaging Ingram more into the game.
Walton said the Lakers have different plans in place whether Rondo is able to play or not. Brandon Ingram will still play some point guard even if Rondo plays, depending on minutes, conditioning, etc.

Rondo is averaging 8.4 points per game, 6.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds. More than the numbers, he's seen as one of the Lakers' leaders along with LeBron James.
Apart from his experience, he brings that one-of-a-kind basketball IQ and a savant-like mentality.
The Lakers will enter the game with a 25-23 record and 4-6 in the last 10 games. With the absence of James — their best player — the Lakers' struggles have become apparent.
Hopefully, with one of their leaders back on the court, they can snag a victory over the Wolves and remain above .500.
