Rui Hachimura is finally getting a brand new start after a rather forgettable stint with the Washington Wizards, and he sure looks excited as he joins the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Wizards traded Hachimura to the Lakers on Monday in exchange for Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks. And after the deal was finalized, the Japanese youngster took to Twitter to share his delight and send a promising message to the Purple and Gold faithful.

“LA, Let’s Get It!” Hachimura wrote alongside the Lakers' tweet welcoming him to the team.

The Lakers also took note that Rui Hachimura is the first Japanese player to join the historic franchise, and so the 24-year-old was beaming with pride for the incredible milestone.

Hachimura is expected to play for the Lakers soon, potentially on Wednesday when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

Sure enough there is plenty of excitement surrounding his debut for the team. While he is not a superstar, he has definitely shown flashes of his star potential. Not to mention that he's a solid two-way player who can improve LA's wing position.

That is exactly the reason why the Lakers opted to acquire him. They basically improved their rotation without sacrificing their highly coveted first round picks.

“We are excited to welcome Rui and his family to the Los Angeles Lakers. Adding both size and depth to the wing position has been a goal, and the chance to accomplish that by acquiring a player with Rui’s two-way skills and upside was an opportunity that doesn’t present itself often,” Pelinka said in their announcement of Hachimura's acquisition.
