Prior to beginning his fourth season in the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle was the recipient of a unique honor from Lexington, Kentucky.
It was announced on Thursday that September 10 would be recognized as “Julius Randle Day” in the city of Lexington due to his major contributions to helping out the community.

It was revealed on Sept. 10 that Randle donated $65,000 to help renovate a court at the Charles Young Center that was opened alongside city mayor Jim Gray. This was made during the pilot episode of a show entitled “Street Ball Stories,” which is produced in Lexington.
Article Continues BelowAlthough Randle played just one collegiate season at Kentucky, it's clear that the community has had a major impact on his young life. It is an honorable act by the 22-year-old to give back to the city in a positive manner.
This has been an offseason of much personal improvement for Randle as he made a concerted effort to get himself better prepared for the upcoming season. He began it by getting into impressive physical shape to which he has followed it up with working on his individual game with recent reports raving about his “drastically” improved shooting.
Randle is set to enter his fourth year in the league with the Lakers holding career averages 12.2 points on 45.7 percent shooting from the field with 9.4 rebounds.
