Kendrick Perkins just made one of the most contentious statements of the offseason (at least for the Los Angeles Lakers) by saying that LA should seriously consider trading Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving for Anthony Davis. Naturally, Stephen A Smith nearly lost his mind the moment he heard Big Perk's proposal.

Stephen A had to ask Perkins to repeat himself just to make sure he heard him right (h/t Ballislife.com on Twitter):

Stephen A immediately turned his attention to Lakers superstar LeBron James, who himself was teammates with Kyrie Irving during their time together with the Cavs. Let's just say that they weren't the best of friends while they were teammates over in Cleveland.

“You have no love for LeBron James to wish Kyrie Irving back on him,” Smith told Perkins. “I mean, with the kind of stuff that he's had to go through. I mean, are you trying to send LeBron James into an asylum? Are you trying to send him to therapy? I mean, that's a lot to ask him to deal with, okay?”

Smith conceded that Davis is indeed a liability for the Lakers simply because of his injuries but in his mind, Smith still doesn't believe that this would justify a trade for Kyrie Irving. Not. At. All.
