According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls have reportedly discussed a deal which would sendĀ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to Chicago in exchange for Jabari Parker.

Both Caldwell-Pope and Parker have been on the trade block for the past month or so.

Caldwell-Pope is making $12 million this season, the final year of his contract, while Parker is owed $20 million. The second season on Parker's deal is a team option worth $20 million.

ā€œ[KCP] is available and has been floated out there for some spots, Windhorst said on ESPN Radio, via Bryan Kalbrosky of Hoops Hype. ā€œOne place that they have talked to, now I’m not saying this deal is going to get done, but one place they have talked to is Chicago forĀ Jabari Parker.

ā€œAnd the thing about this is Caldwell-Pope has to approve of a trade. I’m not sure that’s going to get done but that’s been discussed. The Bulls really like Caldwell-Pope. Parker could be a Laker within the next few days. Jabari is a polarizing player but he might be interesting on the Lakers.ā€

Parker signed a two-year deal with this hometown Bulls last summer, but his homecoming to the Windy City has been a nightmare. While Parker is averaging 14.3 points per game, he's been atrocious on defense and has registered a bunch ofĀ DNP-Coach's Decision's since Jim Boylen replaced Fred Hoiberg in December.

Caldwell-Pope, meanwhile, is averaging 10.3 points this season for the Lakers. Since he's on an expiring deal, it makes sense that the Bulls have interest in him.
