LeBron James and Anthony Davis have become one of the best one-two punch combinations in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar tandem have built tremendous chemistry alongside each other in just a short amount of time. However, that wasn't the case to start the game against the Golden State Warriors.

James and Davis had a brain fart moment which made the Lakers start the game with a turnover. The two initially ran to retrieve possession after Los Angeles won the opening tip. However, both of them perhaps thought the other would get it, only to watch the ball sail out of bounds.

Obviously, this kind of start isn't ideal for any team. Nonetheless, Los Angeles' opening possession didn't really have an effect on the game, as the Lakers are currently up huge against Golden State.

The Lakers held a six point game by halftime, but have since taken command of the game with a 12-point lead heading into the fourth. Barring any sort of comeback from the tanking Warriors, the Purple and Gold should cruise to their 39th victory of the season.

With all the trade rumors surrounding the team over the course of the season, the Lakers stood pat at the deadline. However, Los Angeles will likely look toward the buyout and free agency market to improve its chances of winning the NBA championship this season.

Point guard Darren Collison has been rumored to join the Purple and Gold after announcing that he would return to the NBA. Likewise, the Lakers have reportedly scheduled a workout with LeBron James' former teammate J.R. Smith to see if he could help them moving forward.
