Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James cleared up previous comments he made on being the perfect teammate for Michael Jordan, one he made on the heels of the end of “The Last Dance” docuseries on ESPN.

The past five weeks have rekindled the conversation for the title of the greatest player of all-time, with Jordan taking prevalence after his legendary feats were showcased for five weeks during the series. Yet it seems James didn't want to come off as non-competitive, amending/clarifying his previous statement:

“No, I didn’t say I envisioned MJ as a teammate, not an adversary. A question was asked: “Do I think I could have been a teammate of his and compliment his game,” the Lakers star tweeted on Monday. “I love the greats and would have loved to play with them all during their runs because I a historian of the game but I also would die to compete vs every single one of them too! Don’t ever get it twisted!

“Nevertheless MJ Thank You for being my angel, inspiration, superhero!!”

LeBron James has been known to be a fan of Jordan since even before he was drafted into the NBA. He appears to be just as much of a fan after speaking about the first time he met His Airness while he worked out, an awestruck kid from Akron in disbelief that his lifetime hero was only feet from him.

Perhaps it was that vivid scene that made the Lakers all-timer seem unwilling to claim his stake as one of the players in the GOAT conversation. This tweet should help set the record straight of any misconceptions.
