There has been much discussion on whether or not LeBron James made the right play for the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 and to no one's surprise, Skip Bayless is critical of his decision. In a series of tweets, Bayless claims that James is ‘deflecting blame' by speaking about his pass to Danny Green.
LAKER NATION: Don't let LeBron get away w saying he'll "live with" a wide-open missed 3 by Danny Green. WRONG. He's been shirking his duty, deflecting blame this way his whole career. He had played one of his top 3 playoff games ever. HE HAS TO TAKE THAT SHOT.

For the sad few of you that didn't watch the end of Friday night's exhilarating game, James and the Lakers found themselves down 109-108 against the Miami Heat late in the fourth quarter. LeBron would score seven of Los Angeles' last nine points in the game and would have the ball on the final possession for the Lakers.
When James drove to the hoop, he drew in four members of the Heat, allowing Green to be wide open from the top of the three-point line. Seeing how wide-open Green was, LeBron kicked it out to him in hopes he'd make the shot.

However, Green would barely graze the front of the rim and Markieff Morris would get the offensive rebound, only to throw the ball out of bounds for a costly turnover. Despite making the right play, Bayless believes James should have taken the shot over Butler — and the other defenders around him.
LeBron James is 6 feet 9 inches tall. Jimmy Butler is 6-7. HE HAS TO TAKE THE SHOT TO WIN HIS 4TH RING, NOT DANNY GREEN. LeBron could've shot a 5-foot runner off the glass. Or just powered up and gotten to the free throw line. He was hot. He could've at least made one to tie.

Regardless of how James performs, Bayless has made a career from criticizing him whenever he gets a chance. While 2020 has been filled with unexpected events, Bayless calling out LeBron for not taking a shot — even though it was the right play — is something we all have grown accustomed to over the years.
