With the 2017 NBA Draft less than a week away, things have begun to heat up with the prospects projected at the top of the board.
Much of this has surrounded the fate of UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball come next Thursday night. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Ball could consider working out for other teams following his second workout with the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Lonzo has only spoken to/worked out for Lakers. I'm told he could still speak w/ teams *below* Lakers in lottery. But no plans to talk to Cs

It has been no secret that Ball is honed on joining the Lakers as they are the only team that he has worked for up to this point in the entire pre-draft process. However, Friday's session with the team at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles could hold much weight given that he didn't exactly blow away the team in the first workout with questions surrounding his conditioning.

Although Ball has his eyes fixated on joining the Lakers, he may have no choice but to open his options to other teams. He may not be willing to work out with the Boston Celtics, who hold the first overall pick, but he had previously indicated he may do so with the Philadelphia 76ers, who possess the third overall selection.
Depending on how things unfold in the top three spots, the Phoenix Suns, who have the fourth overall selection, could take Ball if he's available as there were reports that they would love to pair him with rising star guard Devin Booker.
The possibilities are seemingly endless for Ball, and Friday should bring much clarity as to what may lie ahead and what actions he should take.
