The Los Angeles Lakers took a huge blow recently, as this year’s second overall pick and Summer League MVP, Lonzo Ball, suffered a calf injury that forced him to miss the championship game on Monday. The team immediately had x-rays and an MRI done on him to find out its extent and also to check if there are any structural damage in his lower extremity.
Now, the results have been revealed and the MRI scan showed that he suffered a low grade strain on his calf, which will most likely keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks.

The good news for Ball and the team is that it’s still early days in the summer and he will have a lot of time to fully recover from it. There is also no need for him to undergo any procedure to repair it, as his calf injury will only require rest. His age of 19 also works to his advantage as bodies of younger athletes tend to heal faster.
It can be expected that the UCLA product will be ready for the start of training camp and should also see action in the Lakers' preseason games. After all the hype that surrounded him before being drafted, he has lived up to expectations and showcased his brilliant all-around game during the Summer League, to the delight of the Laker faithful.
