New Los Angeles Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony made sure to show his support to Team USA ahead of the squad's showdown against France in the Tokyo Olympics final.
On Twitter, Anthony had a simple but powerful message for Team USA as they gear up for Friday's game: “Go get it.”

Carmelo Anthony is one of the most decorated players in Team USA history, having won gold in three Olympics–2008 Beijing, 2012 London and 2016 Rio de Janeiro. He was also the the nation's all-time leading scorer for years before Kevin Durant broke his record in this year's Olympic games.

Team USA has a tough task at hand, though, as they face a France national team that boasts elite NBA talent as well. Aside from Evan Fournier, who is averaging 19.2 points in the competition so far, the French squad also has reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, veteran wing Nicolas Batum, as well as solid role players like Nando De Colo, Vincent Poirier, Frank Ntilikina and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.
Gregg Popovich's men have the second-best offense in the tournament–behind Slovenia–and they look primed to really blast off after their comeback efforts in the semifinals against Australia. However, it is worth noting that it was France who beat Team USA in their opening match in the Olympics.
Not to mention that they just escaped the best offensive squad in the semis, beating Luka Doncic and Co., 90-89.
Hopefully, Melo's message will light a fire inside Team USA and push them to show what made the nation the top-ranked basketball country in the world.
