Following the abrupt resignation of Magic Johnson as the team's president of basketball operations, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently on the lookout for a suitable replacement.

Golden State Warriors team president Bob Myers, who himself has done tremendously well for the Dubs in recent years, was recently presented with the prospect of potentially being the next guy up for L.A.'s recent job vacancy. Speaking to Monte Poole of NBS Sports, the 44-year-old team executive practically laughed at the idea of him jumping ship to join the Lakers.

Myers then laughed a laugh that suggests he’s not eager to go anywhere anytime soon, even if there are days and nights when he probably wouldn’t mind.

In truth, Myers is in such an envious position right now. Perhaps even the most envious in terms of his standing with arguably the best team in the league at the moment. The Warriors are in the midst of an historic dynasty and Myers is sitting right smack in the middle of it, so quite frankly, what motivation would he have to turn his back on Golden State?

More than anything, money might be a pretty good motivation for most, but his earnings with the Warriors aren't bad at all.

Moreover, why would he want to give up his post with the Warriors to join a Lakers organization that is in the middle of a major crisis. Sure, having LeBron James on your team would be great, but surely, this is not nearly enough motivation for Myers to even consider signing with Jeanie Buss and the Lakers.
