With the way they’re playing this season, the Dallas Maverick must not be finding it easy to earn new fans. The Mavericks have one of the worst records in the NBA today. You shouldn’t bet on them turning it around at any point this season with the kind of roster they have. Perhaps the only legitimate selling points for the Mavericks is that this could be the legendary Dirk Nowitzki’s final season in the NBA and rookie Dennis Smith Jr. Beyond those, people who dare watch Mavericks game will have to stomach 18 minutes per game of Maximilian Kleber. Who? Exactly.
Fortunately for the Mavericks, when their team plays bad, they have a colorful owner in Mark Cuban to help keep the team interesting. In fact, we could count at least one youngster who hopped into the almost-empty Dallas bandwagon but via a unique route, per Mavs reporter Earl Sneed.

Sneed’s tweet reached Cuban, who lauded the kid for making such a move.
Smart Kid 👍👍 https://t.co/YiXDVOpKdV

Cuban has often been known as a different breed of a team owner, the type who’d rather sit with his players on the bench than watch games from a suite. He’ll even greet his players as they walk from the court to the sidelines during timeouts. The Mavericks may not be good this season, but they’ll always be an interesting bunch so long as Cuban is running the team.
