A college baller decided to talk trash to Ja Morant after his team beat Murray State—the Memphis Grizzlies guard's alma mater. The college player later deleted the tweet, but only after Morant saw it and fired back.
Mike Peake of Austin Peay decided to give Morant a little ribbing after they beat Murray State 74-70 on Monday. However, a look at the stat sheet revealed that Peake had a mere two points on 1-of-5 shooting.

Morant told the young gun to humble himself. To add insult to injury, the Grizzlies rising star pointed out that he's undefeated against Austin Peak.

Safe to say that Peake learned his lesson the hard way. It is true that basketball is a team sport and Peake might have contributed some intangibles. But Morant is a stud who averaged 24.5 points and 10.0 assists in his sophomore year at Murray State. Not to mention that his no. 12 jersey was retired by the school.
Moreover, in his first year in the NBA, he was crowned best rookie of his batch. Analysts regard him as the next franchise player of the Grizzlies. League-wide, he's one of the fastest rising stars today.
Thanks to Morant, the Grizzlies are poised to become playoff contenders once again. Last season, they fought well in the seeding games but fell short.
While it was a relatively quiet offseason for Memphis, their preseason games reveal that their young core has improved and is ready for the new season. Ja Morant is expected to further elevate his game. Grizzlies fans can also bank on the likes of Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson and Jonas Valanciunas to anchor the team as they look to make the postseason.
