The Memphis Grizzlies are staring at a 3-1 series deficit against the Golden State Warriors in the western conference semifinals. To make matters worse for Memphis, news surfaced earlier Tuesday that Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant is likely done for the rest of the playoffs.
Following an MRI, it was revealed that Morant is dealing with a bone bruise. Clearly, the Grizzlies are playing it safe with the future of the franchise.
A couple of hours after the news broke, the Grizzlies point guard posted to social media, appearing to be in good spirits.

Morant posted a picture of his daughter, Kaari Jaidyn, smiling look up at the camera. The caption from Morant: “all smiles.”
It is nice to see the Grizzlies star appearing to be in a good head space. The rest of the Memphis team might not feel the same way though. The Grizzlies were 20-5 this season in games without Ja Morant. But those 25 games were not against the Golden State Warriors.
Morant was reportedly injured during the fourth quarter of Game 3. There was contact with Warriors guard Jordan Poole, prompting some to ponder whether it was a dirty play. The NBA reviewed it and decided no further action was needed.
During the Game 4 loss without Morant, the effectiveness down the stretch was lacking for the Grizzlies. They led 47 of the 48 minutes. However, they missed six of their final eight shots and clearly were missing Morant. Thus far in the playoffs, Morant leads the NBA in clutch-time scoring with 42 points.
