One of the main storylines for the Memphis Grizzlies this season is the absence of big man Jaren Jackson Jr. Fans have been waiting for Jackson to come back and strengthen the Grizzlies frontcourt.
Per Memphis Commercial Appeal's Evan Barnes, head coach Taylor Jenkins gave no definite timeline last Tuesday on Jackson playing again. Jenkins remained positive on the situation though.

In his first two seasons in the NBA, Jackson has only played a combined 115 games, due to serious injuries occurring in both seasons. It makes sense if the Grizzlies are being very careful with Jackson.
Memphis could really use Jackson in the second half of the season as they are 16-16 in 10th place in the competitive Western Conference. Together with Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke, they formed a promising, young core that turned out to be better sooner rather than later.
Last season, Jackson averaged less than 30 minutes per game but still had 17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.6 blocks. He fits the mold of a modern NBA big man. He has the speed, length, and tools to protect the rim and switch onto perimeter players. Jackson found his outside shot last season, where he fired away with a 39.4% clip. Despite all these, he still has much time and room for improvement, as he just became old enough to legally drink.
