Miami Heat All-Star big man Bam Adebayo expects the “bubble” games in Orlando, Florida to be more bearable than most people think.

Some NBA players are concerned about being stuck in one place and not having access to their families during the “bubble” games.

However, Adebayo says once basketball games start, guys won't really care about the time they'll have to spend alone.

“I think it’ll be easier that we can play basketball,” Bam Adebayo told Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

“I think that’s the thing that made everybody go stir crazy, because we can’t play basketball. Like, we’re basketball players, that’s what we do. So I felt like that’s the problem, that we couldn’t play basketball. Once you play basketball, I feel like everybody — it’ll still probably bother everybody that we’re not home — but at the end of the day, like I said, a lot of dudes will be happy to play basketball.”

A few weeks ago, Bam Adebayo joined Kyle Kuzma, De’Aaron Fox, Donovan Mitchell, and Jayson Tatum on a phone call with NBPA executive director Michele Roberts about the union possibly facilitating talks with the league on possible insurance allowances for players.

Adebayo, Fox, Kuzma, Mitchell, and Tatum are eligible for rookie scale extensions whenever the 2020 offseason period officially begins. There is an increased risk of injury for players at Walt Disney World since they haven’t been able to train adequately due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For the Heat, Adebayo was averaging 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per contest before games were suspended in March. The Heat big man and Jimmy Butler are eager to lead Miami back to the promised land after the franchise missed the playoffs in 2018-19.

The “bubble” games are scheduled to start on July 30. The Heat have already clinched a spot in the playoffs. As it stands, Miami would face the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2020 postseason.
