Bam Adebayo’s game-winner was the perfect way to end a thrilling Sunday game between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets. Adebayo wouldn't want it any other way except maybe for one thing: he should’ve stood on a table to celebrate just like Dwyane Wade.

Despite not climbing the table, Adebayo’s game-winner was still incredible nevertheless. With the game tied at 107, Adebayo went ISO on Nets forward Jeff Green to hit one of the best shots of his young career so far. Bam closed the game with a monster double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds for a much-needed Heat win.

Bam Adebayo, who signed a max contract for the Heat in the offseason, was expected to pick up the load after Jimmy Butler was ruled out on Sunday due to an ankle injury. Besides picking up the scoring load, Adebayo held the Nets to 3-of-17 shooting and guarded Kyrie Irving, who went 0-8 according to ESPN Stats & Info.
This was a good moral victory for the defending Eastern Conference champions in what has been an up-and-down season for them. Aside from a poor start, they lost three consecutive games prior to Sunday’s contest. It didn’t help that Butler also hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter against the Phoenix Suns, whom they played on Tuesday.
To say that this game wasn’t important for the Heat would have been wrong. They needed this in order to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference standings. They’re currently in seventh place with the record of 29-28. After their humiliating loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, Butler called out Adebayo for not being aggressive enough.
In their latest outing, Adebayo responded with his first career game-winner.
