It has been a good stretch of games for the Miami Heat's Goran Dragic as of late, and the NBA is not letting it slide. The league is naming Dragic the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 8 to Jan. 14.
Per the Heat's official announcement:
“The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Goran Dragic was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for week 13 (games played Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14). It is the fourth time Dragic has been named Player of the Week in his career, including the second time this season after also earning the honor on November 27. He has now become just the fourth player in the Eastern Conference to earn the award on multiple occasions this season and the first HEAT player to do so since LeBron James during the 2013-14 campaign. It also marks the 57th time in franchise history a HEAT player has earned the honor.”

So, how good has Dragic been over this stretch? The Slovenian international averaged 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists per game, leading the Heat to a 3-0 record for the week. Miami is currently enjoying a seven-game winning streak, and Dragic is leading the march.
The three teams they played over the past week are also quite formidable — the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, and Milwaukee Bucks. Dragic scored at least 20 points in each game.
The Heat are currently sitting at the fourth spot in the East with a 25-18 record. It doesn't help that Dion Waiters is out for the season due to an ankle problem. Fortunately for Miami, the good play of Dragic may be enough to keep the team in playoff contention.
