“I think the best way to describe it is this culture is not for everybody,” Butler told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “We say it all the time. We say it every day. But for me and for the guys around this locker room, it is what you hear about. You get what you see. And I love it. I think everybody around here loves it. And we're going to continue to make sure that culture stays that way.”

Many have been quick to point out how Butler embodies Miami Heat culture, from Dwyane Wade to Alonzo Mourning to Udonis Haslem, among many others.

The Heat are starting to build a roster around Butler, only months after Wade went into retirement. Only time will tell if Butler has the patience to await this rebuild into fruition or if his basketball clock is ticking faster than his heart and his love for the franchise.
