Jimmy Butler's venture with the Miami Heat has been going better than anticipated, as his team is flying high with a 10-3 record and four straight wins to put them in third place in the Eastern Conference.

Butler was grinning from ear to ear, even after coming back into familiar soil, set to face his longtime former team in the Chicago Bulls on Friday:

“It’s great,” Butler told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. “Like I tell everybody, I’m happy, man. We’re winning. We’re competing at a high level. Organization is great — people around it, teammates. Everything is phenomenal right now.”

Most analysts and pundits had the Heat as a potential team that could sneak into the playoff race at the end of the season, but no one anticipated such rousing success from the get-go.

The vast improvement of Bam Adebayo, the emergence of Kendrick Nunn, the quick development of rookie Tyler Herro, and the ability to bring a veteran like Goran Dragic off the bench has been the right combination for Erik Spoelstra's team, who now has a leader in Butler to round it all up.

Butler leads the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game, but he's also the Heat's leading playmaker with 7.0 assists per game, all while racking up 2.7 steals per contest.

All is well for Jimmy Buckets, who seems to have found his perfect basketball nirvana in South Beach after being part of a sign-and-trade this summer, one that could change the trajectory of his NBA career.
