During the offseason, one of the biggest splashes was Kyle Lowry heading to the Miami Heat. The ex-Raptors guard was hailed as the final piece the team needed to be a true championship contender. However, Kyle Lowry has missed the last few games due to personal reasons involving his family.

As Lowry returns to the Heat after a nine-game absence, the former All-Star guard spoke out about his troubles. Lowry praised the Miami organization for supporting him throughout the process, saying: (via Barry Jackson)

“Last couple weeks have been extremely tough. Day by day had a lot of support and the Heat organization, my teammates have been unbelievable. I appreciate everything. A lot of people reached out.”

Kyle Lowry has been instrumental to the Heat's success earlier this season, giving the team a much-needed boost at the point guard spot. While there's no doubt Jimmy Butler and the entire Miami franchise supports their guy (as evidenced by Eric Spoelstra's comments yesterday), they're also glad that their marquee signing is back with the team for good.

Lowry's absence has been one of the crucial factors behind Miami's sudden slump from the standings. After holding first place in the East for some time, they have slid back to the third spot. They're still comfortably in the playoffs, but holding home-court advantage is crucial in the postseason, and that number one seed should be their main goal.

Hopefully, all is well with Kyle Lowry's family. Whatever he may be going through, we hope that they will be okay at the end.
