The Miami Heat were one of the best teams in the league this season but collapsed in the playoffs against the Boston Celtics. It'll be interesting to see what this organization can do to build around Jimmy Butler. However, it seems Pat Riley's attention is focused on Bam Adebayo.
According to Brady Hawk, Riley had an interesting answer when asked about the franchise acquiring another scorer opposite Butler. Rather than rambling on about potential free agent signings or trade interests, the Heat president puts the pressure on Adebayo. Perhaps the star center can become more of a prolific scorer, on top of everything else he does for the team.
Pat Riley when asked about potentially slotting someone next to Jimmy Butler as another big time scorer:
Brings up Bam Adebayo again to put more on his scoring plate
“Maybe this is where internally it’s time to go in that direction with more responsibility.”

Pat Riley goes on to pat Bam Adebayo on the back, as the Heat center plays a significant role for his team as is, per Brady Hawk. In fact, Riley specifically comments on Adebayo's passing abilities, as he consistently finds open teammates along the perimeter.

Pat Riley on Bam Adebayo:
“He’s been asked to do a lot of things as a young player.”
“He’s always getting somebody open. Duncan should give him half his check. Tyler should pay him half his check. Max should give him half his check.”

The idea of Adebayo taking charge and becoming a consistent scoring option is enticing. That would give Miami a ton of scoring options all over the court with Jimmy Butler leading the way. However, another star-caliber player wouldn't hurt either. The Heat have a solid roster and acquiring a talented scorer would elevate their game to new heights.
So, maybe Pat Riley has a trick up his sleeve. If Miami can bring in another consistent scoring option while Bam Adebayo develops into a scorer as well, then good luck to the rest of the league. Keep an eye on the Heat, as this franchise could be making a big move in the offseason.
