Rumors have swirled for the past few weeks that Miami Heat All-Star Jimmy Butler is dating pop star Selena Gomez.
For any folks out there ‘shipping Butler and Gomez: slow your roll, apparently.
Gomez's sources spoke to Entertainment Tonight, and insisted that the 28-year-old singer was “not ready” to jump into a relationship with Butler, 31, or anybody else for that matter. However, the two celebrities have clearly been spending time together.
“Selena has enjoyed hanging out with Jimmy, but she is keeping her options open in terms of guys,” the source told ET. “She is comfortable dating, but also comfortable being single. She’s not rushing into anything whatsoever.”
“Selena is focusing on what makes her happy and what feels good to her — whether that’s a relationship or not,” the source added. “The qualities that stand out to her in terms of a potential boyfriend are confident, supportive, smart, funny, trustworthy, and reliable.”
No word on how Gomez likes her coffee, and if barista skills and small-business management are qualities she's seeking in a partner.
Rumors of a relationship began in November, when the pair was spotted dining together at Lucien in New York City, per ET and the Miami Herald (and various social media accounts). According to E! News, the two have been on a few dates together.
“They hung out a few times while Selena was in New York City. Jimmy asked her to go to dinner and they had a great time,” ET's source clarified. “It's very casual and she's open to seeing where things go, but isn't settling down just yet.”
Gomez has previously dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd. Jimmy Butler has a one-year-old daughter with ex Kaitlin Nowak, and was linked to actress Shay Mitchell in 2016.
