There's no arguing that the Sacramento Kings made one of the most egregious trade deadline blunders in recent NBA history. Sacremento's decision to trade Tyrese Haliburton was simply not a good one, and the team will have to live with the repercussions. Given how good De'Aaron Fox is, it's not crazy that they're allowing him to be the team's future, but still, getting rid of Halliburton wasn't the right move.

Nonetheless, the Kings went out and made a few additional changes, including bringing in Donte DiVincenzo in addition to bringing back Domantas Sabonis. DiVincenzo has been on the Kings' radar for a few years and is an excellent player for this team.

There's no doubting that the Sacramento Kings' present defense is their most serious flaw. They're one of the worst defenses in the NBA. DiVincenzo can be a major reason why they can fix their defensive issues.

Let's look at three reasons why Donte DiVincenzo is an excellent fit for the Kings.

While some fans may disagree with the reasons behind Donte's acquisition, the front office made a wise move. There was definitely an area where they needed to improve, and while DiVincenzo may not be the perfect solution, he still has a lot of promise for this team.

3. Provides them with a young guard who can aid in the rebuilding process if they choose to go that route

There's no doubting that the Kings needed an extra guard after trading Tyrese Haliburton. Donte DiVincenzo will fit perfectly into that role, and while he isn't the same sort of player as Haliburton, he is still someone who can provide them with more than adequate minutes and has a strong chance of becoming the team's starting shooting guard.

If Sacramento decides to rebuild, he might be useful both now and in the future. He's one of those players that is going to give you solid minutes anytime he's on the floor, so if they do decide to rebuild, he can surely help speed things along.

2. Above-average defender for a defense that is below-average

The fact that Donte DiVincenzo is an above-average defender is one of the main reasons why he is a fantastic fit for the Sacramento Kings. He isn't an elite defender by any stretch of the imagination, but he does a great job of trying to stop some very talented players.

When he was with the Milwaukee Bucks, he was given the task of guarding the other team's best player, and everyone saw how good Milwaukee's defense was. They had one of the top defenses in the NBA the last few seasons, and a large reason for it is because DiVincenzo is an excellent on-ball defender who is not only a solid individual defender but also a high-level team defender.

1. Brings a championship attitude to the table (NCAA and NBA champion)

Consider the level of success he found with the Milwaukee Bucks over the last three seasons, the reached the Conference Finals, Conference Semi-Finals, led the league in victories, and won an NBA championship. For practically all three years, DiVincenzo has been a starter for this team. When it comes to guys that know how to win, you have to give it to him because he simply does that. There's a reason why so many of the NBA's top teams have elite role players as starters like DiVincenzo who just go out there and do the dirty work.

There is no arguing that Giannis Antetokounmpo's contributions to the Milwaukee Bucks' success during his tenure there are significant. To claim differently would be a falsehood. However, before his injury, Donte DiVincenzo had been a starter for this squad for the previous seasons and was a major reason for their success.

You won't win a basketball game based just on the performance of one player. Despite the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo is perhaps the best player in the world, Milwaukee had a lot of other players that had to do a lot of the small things well, and Donte DiVincenzo was one of them. Throughout his brief career, he has won NBA and NCAA championships. Some guys are born winners, and Donte DiVincenzo is one of them.
