The Milwaukee Bucks' search for a catalyst at the point guard position went beyond the opportunity to pounce on an unhappy Eric Bledsoe after he was exiled by the Phoenix Suns, stemming from his frustration with the organization.
In hopes of finding added firepower and a staple at the position, the Bucks even eyed prospects in their own conference, keeping Terry Rozier of the Boston Celtics in their crosshairs prior to working out a deal for Bledsoe.

In assessing the team’s needs, toughness, athleticism, speed and quickness were at the top of the list. They eyeballed a few players. Boston’s Terry Rozier was one. Bledsoe was another. Bledsoe was available. The Bucks had an asset the Suns would take (Greg Monroe) and a draft pick (a protected first-rounder) they wanted. Done deal.
Rozier proved to be a capable point man when given the opportunity, getting off to a blistering start this season with strong outings during his first four games. His improved acumen at the three-point line was certainly one of the things the Bucks were attracted to, but it ultimately panned out to have Bledsoe, a more complete and experienced point guard instead.
