ESPN insiders Kevin Arnovitz and Zach Lowe recently had a conversation about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Antetokounmpo can become an unrestricted free agent in 2021 if he doesn't sign the supermax extension with the Bucks this offseason. Many believe Antetokounmpo could leave Milwaukee for the Miami Heat or Toronto Raptors if the Bucks don't win the title this season or in 2020-21.
However, Arnovitz did mention he spoke with someone close to Antetokounmpo who pointed out how the Greek Freak is different from other stars when it comes to his humbleness and private demeanor.
The ESPN insider then suggested that could be something the Bucks have going for them in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.

“Sort of Giannis Antetokounmpo being this private superstar: someone close to him told me… I'm like, ‘Yeah, Giannis, it's his nature to be private. He's a little more Duncan-y in his approach to superstardom,' “Arnovitz said on The Lowe Post podcast.
“And they're like, ‘Yeah, that's not really it.' And I said, ‘What is it?' They're like, ‘He finds it unseemly to preen as the face of the league before you win a championship. Like it would be unconscionable for him to do that because it just is so not in his nature the idea that anybody would preen before they won a title.'
“That's the one thing the Bucks have going for them. He's insanely hard on himself. And it might not be in his nature to blame an organization for falling short of potential. But who the hell knows, Zach?”
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are currently down 2-0 to the Heat in the second round of the playoffs. While Antetokounmpo won the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year Award and is expected to repeat as MVP, he's gotten a little exposed against the Heat due to his lack of a perimeter game.
All eyes are going to be on Antetokounmpo this offseason and next offseason. Despite his lack of a jump shot, the future of the NBA could rest on his decision.
