Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had another stellar outing on Thursday, as he led his team to a victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, 137-129.
Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Shaquille O'Neal believes that the reigning MVP is on track to repeat:
Who do the guys think the front-runner for MVP is right now? 🧐

Giannis logged another triple-double against Portland with 24 points (on 9-of-27 shooting, 5-of-10 from the line), 19 rebounds, 15 assists, three steals, and five blocks in 36 minutes of play. Save for the inefficient shooting, these are indeed some MVP numbers right there, and it's definitely hard to argue against O'Neal's comments.
It is also worth noting that the three other players the panel discussed have all had tremendous starts to their respective seasons. LeBron James has led the Los Angeles Lakers to the best record in the league at 12-2, while Dallas Mavericks sophomore stud Luka Doncic has absolutely wowed the basketball world with his outstanding play. As for former MVP James Harden of the Houston Rockets, the 30-year-old is currently averaging 38.4 points per ballgame, and there's no denying that he should be in the conversation as well thanks to these exploits.
All of this just further emphasizes just how remarkable Giannis Antetokounmpo has been this term. He is certainly up against some formidable challengers for his MVP crown, but nonetheless, the 24-year-old is still able to stand out as the early-season favorite for Shaq, who himself is a former MVP winner.
