Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry says the Bucks' medical staff killed a trade back in 2012 which would have sent point guard Stephen Curry to the Bucks and center Andrew Bogut to the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors traded fan favorite Monta Ellis to the Bucks in exchange for Bogut in 2012. Back then, Stephen Curry had serious ankle issues and underwent multiple surgeries. No one knew he would turn into the superstar he is now, but looks like the Warriors have the Bucks' medical staff to thank for keeping Curry on the Dubs.

Lasry says that medical staff was let go when new ownership took over in Milwaukee.

“I don’t know if they can be light years ahead if they traded Stephen Curry to the Bucks for Andrew Bogut,” Lasry told Frank Isola of The Atheltic. “That was the deal. But the Bucks’ medical staff didn’t think Steph’s ankle would hold up. That killed the deal. So, I don’t know if that’s being light years. It’s luck. And that’s fine.”

Lasry then smiled and added, “I think we got rid of that medical staff when we bought the team.”

Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut won a championship together in 2015 with the Warriors. Curry has established himself as arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history.

Who knows if the two-time league MVP and three-time NBA champion would have been able to produce like this in Milwaukee, but either way, Bucks fans are shedding some tears reading this.
