Timberwolves Karl-Anthony Towns and 2015 NBA Draft buddy Nets' D'Angelo Russell were in for a task out of their realm, being a part of pro beach volleyball player April Ross' challenge against two other pros in the sport — Geena Urango and Lauren Fendrick.
Ross didn't play due to a broken toe, so instead, she watched from the sideline and commented on the match.
While Russell claimed he had only a bit of experience, the 7-foot Towns admitted he had none, making this a recipe for quite a difficult time in the sand.
The two friends were abused like kids in a grown man's playground, constantly failing to dig and spike the ball accurately despite their height advantage against the two ladies.

Russell was optimistic the two could get better with some practice while the two beach-vo pros praised their athleticism and lateral quickness.
