The NBA on Thursday afternoon announced the three All-NBA teams for this past regular season that saw a few notable names left off the list. This created much reaction around the league in regards to the players that didn't earn the honor.

One of which was Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who through his Snapchat account posted some subtle messages that signaled his displeasure about being slighted by the media in the voting process.

Towns had continued improvement in his second campaign averaging a double-double with 25.1 points on 54.2 percent shooting from the field and 12.3 rebounds along with 1.3 blocks per game. He finished 12th in the league in scoring, sixth in rebounding, 12th in field goal percent, and second with 62 double-doubles.

The 21-year-old also led the NBA in paint scoring (1,154) and second-chance points (386) this season. The paint total is the most ever in team history as well as the highest since Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, who racked up 1,266 for the Miami Heat in the 2004-05 season. He also scored a franchise-record 2,061 points for the entire year.

Although it has been just two seasons, Towns has already earned the reputation as being one of the top big men in the league. However, the lack of team success and national recognition hurt his case for earning a selection on any of the All-NBA teams.

What makes this more frustrating for Towns is that he narrowly missed out getting selected to the All-NBA Third Team as he tallied up 50 total points in the voting that fell just four points behind DeAndre Jordan.

It's a difficult voting process that often times leaves out another player that deserves that prestigious honor. There are other big name players such as DeMarcus Cousins, Marc Gasol, and Hassan Whiteside who also fell short of earning that accolade.

That said, if Towns continues to progress at the pace he's currently at there may be no reason to deny him a spot on any All-NBA teams next season and beyond.
