Star players around the NBA are still reacting to Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose's 50-point game from Wednesday, and San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan is the latest one to congratulate the former MVP.
Rose, who has undergone four knee surgeries, played 41 minutes against the Utah Jazz and was magnificent from start to finish. The Chicago native finished with 50 points while shooting 19-of-31 from the field, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line. He also dished out six assists, grabbed four rebounds and had the game-winning block on Jazz guard Dante Exum at the end of regulation from the right corner.
DeRozan and Rose had many battles against each other in the East when DeMar was with the Toronto Raptors and D-Rose was with the Chicago Bulls. They were teammates on the 2014 USA Fiba World Cup team as well.
Speaking to local reporters Friday, DeMar DeRozan says what Derrick Rose did against the Jazz was very inspirational.

“I've always been a fan of Derrick,” DeRozan said. “Derrick, by far, one of the most humbling individuals I've ever came across. I got a chance to play in the Fiba World Games with him in 2014 when he was making his way back from surgery. You see the hard work that he puts in. This long road he been on, to see him do something like that and get emotional afterwards, as a competitor, as a fan, that's a true inspiration for real.”
