Amid all the negativity going around, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D'Angelo Russell is standing by his former teammate Kyrie Irving. The Brooklyn Nets star has been under a ton of scrutiny as of late. And by this, I mean this entire year really.
But, as it appears, Russell is making sure everyone knows that he's on Kyrie's side. On Monday, the 25-year-old posted a simple tweet to share his thoughts on Irving:
“Kyrie is Goated,” the Timberwolves star posted.
Kyrie is Goated

Although we do not have the full context of what DLo is pertaining to, his cryptic tweet brings up a lot of questions especially with all the drama with regards to Kyrie's vax approach which has been under fire as of late.
The former NBA champion has been one of the more polarizing figures in the league and his rather unique approach to the whole vax drama hasn't helped his image. For Kyrie, he is saying that everyone should respect everyone's privacy and simply stop asking if he's vaccinated or not despite numerous policies being set up by different teams around the league.
Outside this whole vax issue, Irving can definitely consider himself ‘goated' to a lot of people's eyes. He's still one of the best point guards in the league (whenever he decides to play) and his growing list of individual accolades should attest to that. Unfortunately, controversy seems to be following Kyrie wherever he goes.
