Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves has dealt with quite a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the passing of his mother. After purchasing a new car recently, Towns revealed that he honored his mother by having her name embroidered in the interior of the car, as reported by TMZ.

Jordyn Woods, Towns' girlfriend, shared that the star center purchased a new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. At the same time, the pictures of the interior of the car show that Towns got the signature of his late mother stitched into the headrests of the seats.

Back in April of 2020, Towns lost his mother after she had a long bout with COVID-19. Besides his mother, Towns also lost six other close members of his family to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Towns and his father also tested positive for COVID-19 in the past year, with both of them fortunately recovering. He also was involved in a car crash that was incited by a drunk driver, with Towns being able to avoid any serious injuries.

When Towns spoke about the situation of his mother, it was clear that the Kentucky product was very close to his mother. The All-Star has credited a ton of his success thus far to his mother and father so the loss of his mother was something that affected him emotionally and mentally.

While the Timberwolves aren't having much success, it's great to see Towns with a smile on his face given the hardships he's endured in the past year. With the purchase of his new flashy car, Towns did his best in making sure he was paying homage to his late mother.
