The Minnesota Timberwolves got their first road win of the season Friday by defeating the Brooklyn Nets, and it was another stellar game for point guard Derrick Rose.

In 29 minutes off the bench, Rose scored a game-high 25 points while shooting 11-of-17 from the field and 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. The former MVP entered the game averaging 19.0 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 47.0 percent from the floor and 45.9 percent from the 3-point line.

Nets forward Jared Dudley got a front row seat to Rose's performance, and the veteran shooter says we're are seeing the new and improved version of Derrick Rose.

Jared Dudley is right. This is not vintage or MVP Derrick Rose. The old D-Rose never shot the ball from the 3-point line this well. This past summer was the first offseason in a long time that Rose didn’t have to rehab an injury. The 30-year-old Chicago native was able to work on his game, particularly his 3-point shot, and the early returns have been very positive.

Now that Jimmy Butler is gone, the Timberwolves are going to need Rose to be a microwave scorer for them off the bench. Minnesota is not a good half-court team and often struggles to score when playing at a slow pace. When Rose enters the game, the pace picks up and baskets are easier to come by because he doesn’t let the opposing defense get set.

Jared Dudley is obviously disappointed the Nets lost to the Timberwolves, but he's happy to see Rose have success after all the injuries he's been through.
