Minnesota Timberwolves fans have had enough of head coach and team president Tom Thibodeau, and it looks like they are already calling for his head.

John Krawcynski of The Athletic tweeted that fans booed Thibodeau during the introductions of the Minnesota Timberwolves' preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder:

Thunder beat writer Erik Horne of The Oklahaman was also certain he heard the same:

Minnesota went out and lost 113-101 to Oklahoma City.

Timberwolves fans have certainly taken notice of the on-going turmoil surrounding the organization.

It is safe to say that the Jimmy Butler experiment did not work out for Tom Thibodeau, who traded for the former Chicago Bulls star last summer to bring some toughness and intensity to a young Timberwolves team that featured Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

Butler demanded a trade out of Minnesota a couple of weeks back, but Thibodeau stubbornly does not want to part ways with him.

Reports of multiple trade requests for Butler have flared up over the past few weeks, specifically with the Miami Heat and the LA Clippers, both of which were preferred destinations of Butler. But up until now, no deal has gone down and the disgruntled forward is still on the Timberwolves' roster.

Moreover, rumors have surfaced over the duration of this drama that Thibs is intentionally making his asking price for Butler too high so that teams would not accept his counteroffers.

It's not hard to blame the Minnesota fans for turning their back on Thibodeau, who has seemingly lost control of this entire situation. His reluctance to trade a player who has expressed that he does not want to be there is bringing a dark cloud over the entire organization.

Even though Thibs and Butler led this young team to its first postseason appearance since the 2003-04 season, they simply have put the Timberwolves into too much turmoil with this situation, which may prove to be too difficult to salvage for this upcoming season.
