In the interview, Edwards was asked about being a multi-sport athlete when he was younger, and the 19-year-old responded that he could excel in any sport. While it remains to be seen whether Edwards can excel in the other sports and non-sporting activities that he mentioned, itâs clear that he is capable of playing at a high level in basketball.
In his NBA debut, the rookie finished with 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 25 minutes of play in the Timberwolvesâ 111-101 win over the Detroit Pistons in their season opener. After his first game, the Atlanta native said he didnât find the transition from college to the pros difficult, since he was double-teamed all the time during his time at Georgia.
While itâs unclear whether he can be âA1 from Day 1â in the other sports that he mentioned, itâs apparent that there is one sport that Anthony Edwards is already capable of dominating.
