Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose scored a career-high 50 points Wednesday night, and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry says it's fitting the former MVP had the best game of his NBA career against the Utah Jazz.

If you recall, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Derrick Rose to the Jazz last season at the February trade deadline. The Jazz then quickly waived Rose, as they felt they didn't need his services. Rose remained on the open market for a while before signing with the Timberwolves for the rest of the season.

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Stephen Curry said what Derrick Rose did is an amazing story and the sharpshooter smiled when he brought up the Jazz part.

“Amazing night,” Curry said. “Amazing story, just in terms of what he's been through. It's great for obviously him, comeback story. We obviously knew what he was capable of, and the level he was at before the injuries. I know people who have been around him that talk about how hard he works. Obviously you don't become an MVP without working hard. Obviously very fitting that he did it against Utah too.”

Derrick Rose played 41 minutes against the Jazz and was magnificent from start to finish. The Chicago native finished with 50 points while shooting 19-of-31 from the field, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line. He also dished out six assists, grabbed four rebounds and had the game-winning block on Jazz guard Dante Exum at the end of regulation from the right corner.

Stephen Curry has had some good battles with Derrick Rose in his NBA career. The two MVPs were teammates on the 2014 USA Fiba World Cup team as well. Both players have respect for one another, and it's good to see Curry, and the rest of the star players in the NBA, show Rose some love which he deserves after putting on a show.
