On Friday evening, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens told the media that guard Marcus Smart is still 10-to-14 days away from making a return to the lineup. Smart will miss his fifth straight game tonight when the Celtics host the Atlanta Hawks due to a laceration on his right hand.
The team's official Twitter also posted about Smart's injury update, as the Celtics continue to suffer from the injury bug this season.
#NEBHInjuryReport: Brad Stevens says Marcus Smart is still about 10 days to two weeks away from returning from his hand lacerations.

The injury came just one day after the Celtics lost a 108-107 heartbreaker to the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center, a game in which Smart decided to take the team's final shot and was openly criticized for it. Smart allegedly took a swipe at a picture frame in the team's Los Angeles hotel, just before their game against the L.A. Clippers.
After many people wondered what on Earth happened to him, the guard took to Twitter after the incident to apologize for his actions at the team's hotel in Los Angeles
I want to take this time to express my sincerest apologies to my teammates, coaches, and most of all the amazing Boston Celtics fans. I'm embarrassed and disappointed in my actions. I swiped at and hit a picture frame on the wall. I feel like I let all y'all down

Want to hear something crazy regarding Smart's situation? Check out the following tweet from Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. If there's one thing that is clear, Jan. 24 has not been very king to Smart over the last couple of years.
So Marcus Smart cut his hand on a picture frame in Beverly Hills Wednesday — exactly a year to the day after he argued with coaches and punched a hole in the locker room wall in Washington.
On January 24, 2019, Marcus needs to call in sick.

You simply cannot make things up like that. Hopefully Smart continues to heal quickly as the Celtics approach the All-Star break. In tonight's game against Atlanta at TD Garden, Boston will be without Smart, star point guard Kyrie Irving and power forward Marcus Morris as the squad looks for its third straight win.
That means it's going to be the Terry Rozier show again, as the third-year point guard recorded a triple-double in his first career start the other night in a 103-73 blowout victory over the rival New York Knicks.
