Despite a mini-slump, the Utah Jazz remain the head honchos of the Western Conference. Even after two consecutive losses to the cellar-dwelling Minnesota Timberwolves, star center Rudy Gobert remains confident in his squad.
Gobert has been in the NBA long enough to know that even the best teams fall to bottomfeeders twice in a row. He, however, did give himself a good ribbing for not performing well on defense, with a NSFW remark on the side (via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune).
Rudy Gobert, on his level of concern after B2B losses to the Wolves: "None. I would be concerned if we were giving up 140 points. … Every team has some nights like this. Tonight, if I don’t fuck up defensively, we win."

In their heartbreaking 105-104 loss to the Timberwolves on Monday, Gobert had 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and three blocks. They are still without superstar guard Donovan Mitchell due to an ankle injury. Mike Conley Jr. stepped up with 26 points and also got ample support from the bench.

Their underperformance, however, in the middle quarters came back to haunt them in the final minutes of the final frame. It would've been an easy victory, but the gritty Timberwolves were able to hold on.
The postseason-bound Jazz still hold an impressive 44-16 slate for the best record in the NBA. But they still haven't locked homecourt advantage as the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers are right behind them.
So Jazz fans should expect the team to rake in more victories with less than 15 games left in the regular season. It would also be understandable if the Jazz rest their stars like Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley Jr. for several games. Keeping the core group healthy seems to be the most logical choice.
