Stephen Curry fully intended to take part in the Rio Olympic Games this summer. After announcing he wouldn't play, he now appears to be disappointed that he won’t be competing after all.
Golden State's star player spoke of his decision in a Facebook Live news conference this week:
“I wasn't too happy with the situation of having to pull out of the games. I wish I would be able to play in those. I was looking forward to it.”
The two-time NBA MVP picked up injuries during this year’s playoffs, essentially ruling him out of the Olympics games as a safety measure.

“When I got hurt in the playoffs and knew that the recovery time over the course of summer was going to be important for me to get ready for next year, I tried to give Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) and (Jerry) Colangelo and the whole USA staff more time to figure out what they need to figure out for the roster.”
Team USA will be disappointed to not have Curry on the roster but have no shortage of fire power at the point guard position. Kyrie Irving and Kyle Lowry are included in the squad that will attempt to bring back another gold medal this year.
