The Minnesota Timberwolves and their fans are all hoping for a speedy recovery for Karl-Anthony Towns, as he recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas expressed how saddening the news of Towns' positive test was, as he knew that KAT had endured a lot this past year with the loss of many family members–including his mother–to the virus. John Krawczynski of The Athletic reported what Rosas had to say:

Rosas also reassured the NBA world that the Timberwolves are making sure the rest of the team is safe.

With Karl-Anthony Towns testing positive, the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night was postponed–one of the many games that have been delayed due to the coronavirus this season. Eric Woodyard of ESPN reported Rosas' reaction to the postponement and what the reality of the world is right now:
Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas called it “difficult” and “unfortunate” with the game being postponed. He also called it a “reality” with the current state of the world. “We don’t pick those situations, they pick us,” Rosas said.

This influx of COVID-19 cases in the NBA goes to show that no matter how many protocols are put into play and enforced, there is always a chance of players testing positive. Though the NBA, as well as many other professional leagues, adapted to the circumstances and learned to play in a world where COVID-19 is the norm, the virus has the potential to spread very quickly amongst these professional teams.
The NBA hopes that the Timberwolves big man has a smooth recovery, as the health of players and staff is being prioritized with the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocols–seen by the large fines that players have received for breaking these protocols and mandatory quarantining.
