New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps has had no communication on Wednesday with Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson regarding an Anthony Davis trade, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
With the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, the Lakers are reportedly running low on hope that the Pelicans will get back to them before the deadline.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. All along throughout this process, we heard that New Orleans doesn't want to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers.
Article Continues BelowLos Angeles reportedly offered the Pelicans a Godfather offer which included Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, Lance Stephenson and two first-round picks, and still, New Orleans hasn't contacted the Lakers back.
It is widely assumed in league circles the Pelicans are waiting until the summer to trade Davis. The Boston Celtics can pursue a Davis trade once star point guard Kyrie Irving opts out of his 2019-20 player option.
Once that happens, Boston can offer New Orleans Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and all of the draft picks they have at their disposal for The Brow.
You can't fault Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka for this. Dell Demps and New Orleans just aren't going to let Davis and LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, bully them into sending AD to his preferred destination.
