This is a huge boost for the Pelicans, who are just one-half game behind the Lakers in the West. A win over Los Angeles on Sunday would see them jump the Lakers for sole possession of the No. 9 seed in the conference. Ingram's hamstring has been bothering him for a few weeks, causing the former No. 2 overall pick to miss the team's previous 10 games. Fortunately, it seems his recovery is nearly complete, and he's on track to return to the lineup on Sunday.
With Ingram sidelined, CJ McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas led the charge for New Orleans, with the team going 4-6 in that span. While Ingram is expected to be back in the fold on Sunday, the Pelicans may still not be at full strength. Clark also reported that McCollum and Valanciunas were added to the injury report and labeled as questionable for Sunday's contest with a left ankle sprain (McCollum) and right foot soreness (Valanciunas).
