The New Orleans Pelicans have hired former University of Connecticut icon and WNBA star Swin Cash as their vice president of basketball operations and team development, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Cash will join president David Griffin in his newly-assembled staff, scouting talent, helping guide the development of young players, along with other roles within the organization.
The 39-year-old is the latest in a list of major hirings by Griffin, who has been the man charged with handling the last leg of the Anthony Davis saga after the two met earlier this month.

Nelson was the head of the Phoenix Suns' highly-touted training staff for the last 20 years. Only two weeks later, Griffin hired Trajan Langdon away from the Brooklyn Nets to be the team's new general manager, working side by side with him.
Besides a prominent analyst role in NBA TV, which she worked alongside Griffin on occasion, Cash is a four-time WNBA All-Star that has played 15 seasons as a pro.
Cash has won three WNBA championships, along with two more at UConn, where she starred all four years. In 2017, the New York Liberty named Cash their director of franchise development, setting up this new role with the franchise.
