The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday 128-115, and exuded a little mockery to Magic Johnson after the game.

Following the Feb. 7 trade deadline, Johnson told ESPN's Dave McMenamin that the Pelicans did not have good faith when inquiring about superstar big man Anthony Davis (h/t Trevor Hooth of ClutchPoints).

“We knew that basically at the end of the day what happened, happened, Johnson told Tania Ganguli of The Los Angeles Times,”And we knew that when we first started. In terms of what happened. But hey, it is what it is.”

Though it's likely that Davis will inevitably get to the Lakers at some point, and will do so on an extensive multi-year contract, he has faced some major backlash since the failed trade request.

Current Lakers star LeBron James also received a flurry of boos during his visit to New Orleans as well.

James, 34, has been deemed as one of the main instigators of the whole mess, which presented him with a heedless crowd to work under for the entire game against the Pelicans.

The four-time MVP still managed to piece together 27 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds, in the team's defeat.

Davis, 25, didn't even make an appearance in the game, mostly due to a punishment inflicted by New Orleans. Davis recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, and 4 assists in 20 minutes played on Friday against the Indiana Pacers.

Anthony Davis has averaged 27.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.5 blocks in the 2018-19 season.

It will be very interesting to see if he suits up against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
